This was taken at the home of John’s friend the eminent New Zealand historian and writer Dick Scott (17 November 1923 – 1 January 2020). It is very fitting as this kitchen wine cellar belonged to the author of the first book on the NZ wine industry Winemakers of New Zealand in 1964.
Scott was a supporter of John’s work and John in return took a series of photographs such as this one at the Scott residence.
